The Director, Center for Black Culture and International Understanding, Osogbo, Professor Siyan Oyeweso on Saturday, February 1st, 2020 bagged “Distinguished Alumnus Award” of Oke-Iragbiji Grammar School, Iragbiji, Osun State.
The erudite professor, who graduated from the school in the year 1978, was among the few individuals recognized for special vawards during the 60th anniversary of the school that climaxed on Saturday.
Presenting the award, the Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Oba Abdurrosheed Olabomi Odundun IV, commended the dedication, commitment and relentless efforts of Prof Oyeweso towards ensuring the institution is at its peak at all times.
Oyeweso was also applauded for always representing the school at every stage, an assignment they said, “he has been doing since he days at the school when he represented the school at regional competition in 1977”.
The professor of history was the Library Prefect of the school in the year 1977/78 academic session.
The award coincides with the 59th birth of Professor Siyan Oyeweso.
