Residents of Maiduguri, Borno State capital on Wednesday rejected the condolence visitation of President Muhammadu Buhari, following Sunday’s attack in Auno town by Boko Haram insurgents.
InsightMedia has reported that President Buhari today went to Maiduguri to commiserate with the people of the state over the Auno killings that happened on Sunday.
Presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu disclosed that Buhari arrived in Borno from Ethiopia, where he had participated in an African Union (AU) summit, to sympathize with the state government and the people of the state over the tragic incident which claimed over 30 lives.
The president, was however, greeted by a large crowd of angry protesters who chanted “Bama so” in Hausa, which means “we don’t want you”.
Borno is touted as one of President Buhari’s strongholds in all the elections he had contested.
