Kano State Ministry of Health has announced the first coronavirus death as 12 new cases of the virus were confirmed late on Wednesday in the state.
The new 12 cases were confirmed by Kano State Ministry of Health in a post published on its Twitter handle at 11.55 pm on Wednesday.
Kano now has 21 confirmed cases, coming behind Lagos and FCT in terms of cases recorded.
Kano is embarking on total lockdown beginning 10pm on Thursday, a stiffer measure imposed by the state government to curtail further spread of the virus in the state. (The Guardian)
