Deputy Minority leader of Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. Tomide Akinribido got called out on his wedding day today, May 8, by his ex-girlfriend who accused him of deceit and fraud.
The lawmaker representing Ondo West State Constituency 1, had shared photos of him and his new bride on Twitter with the caption “Meet the Akinribidos”.
The lady, with the handle @lusciouspeenut alleged that Akinribido lied about wanting to marry her, after which he took all her money to fund his election and disappeared immediately after winning the election.
She explained further hat the lawmaker based his decision on her mother being against him marrying a non-Yoruba lady.
She tweeted; “This guy fraudulently lied to me that he wants to marry me. Took all my money to fund his election and disappeared immediately after winning the election. His friends and members of his family were in on the scam and they cheered him on.
After he had achieved his mission he sent @Bobbyoba to come and tell me that it was his mother who kicked against him marrying a non Yoruba. Every single thing Bobby told me that day I recorded it all.”
The lawmaker simply replied, “thanks for free press”.
However, some internet user have started reacting to the allegation against the lawmaker.
Activist, Deji Adeyanju wrote; “My bro, so a girl said she sponsored your election? Some of these folks can be legit funny. Do you know what it means to run an election? They think it’s going to Coldstone to buy ice-cream.”
