Six illegal immigrants from Niger state, North central Nigeria, who defied the total lockdown orders by the federal and state governments, to secretly enter the state of Osun and their host, have been sent back to where they came from, by the combined team of Amotekun corps and the Nigeria police.
Their host, one Olawale Ibrahim, it was learnt, is well known in Igbajo, as he has been living there for about three decades, before the other six came as his guests during this emergency period.
Reports indicate that they entered the community around 1900hrs and the people of the town alerted the chairman, Boluwaduro local government, who in turn, called the Director General, Amotekun, state of Osun, Comrade Amitolu Shittu, and the DPO of the area; who jointly coordinated the operation.
The police had earlier arrested and detained the illegal immigrants in isolation toll till the following morning, when the Amotekun team got there, in company of health officials, so as to conduct test on them to know the level of their temperature.
Amotekun, in collaboration with police, then led them to Osun-Kwara boundary through Ila-odo and handed them over to a vehicle going to the North.
The chairman, Boluwaduro local government thereafter gave the seven guys some amount of money, through Amotekun corps, to take care of their feeding.
They were quoted as even complaining that the money was not enough.
