The National Working Committee of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has ordered the Chairman of the party in Osun State, Hon. Soji Adagunodo to step aside from office pending investigation into allegations against him.
The party said it has found merits in the complaints of malfeasance, maladministration and anti-party activities against Adagunodo by members of the party in the state.
In a letter signed by the national secretary, Umaru Tsauri, Adagunodo was asked to handover the affairs of the party to the state Deputy Chairman.
The letter reads in part, “You will recall that sometime ago a Committee was set up by the National Working Committee (NWC) of our party to look into complaints of malfeasance, maladministration and anti-party activities levelled against you by your colleagues and other stakeholders of the party in your state.
“The NWC had received and reviewed the report of that Committee and is satisfied that there are merits in the complaints as found by the Committee.
“You are therefore directed to:
1 Step aside from office as the state chairman of the party with effect from the date of the receipt of this letter:
2. You are to handover all the documents and property of the party in your custody to the State Deputy Chairman who shall henceforth act as the State Chairman; and
3. You are hereby notified that your case has been handed over to the National Disciplinary Committee (NDC) of our party to consider why other disciplinary actions cannot be taken against you in line with our party Constitution.
Accept the assurances appreciation for your past services to the party
