The Speaker, State of Osun House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye has on Wednesday set up an ad-hoc Committee on Public Complaint resolution.
The 6-man committee headed by the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Femi Popoola is saddled with the responsibility of resolving complaints received from members of the public.
The Speaker during plenary urged members of the committee to see it as a duty owed the teaming populace of Osun whom they represents.
He stated that the newly constituted Public complaint resolution mechanism is inline with the legislative agenda of the 7th assembly, noting that such arrangement will bring government closer to the people.
Members of the ad-hoc Committee includes; Hon. Lateef Jayeola, representing Ila state constituency, Hon. Isamotu Adebayo (Iwo), Hon. Desmond Ojo (Oriade), Hon. Gbenga Ogundipe (Ife South) and the Clerk and the Permanent Secretary of the Assembly will serve as the committee Secretary.
He said, ‘The 7th Assembly under my watch will not cringe from it’s constituent engagement, the House will be there to attend promptly to discontent and requests of the people they represent.
“The launch of this public complaints resolution mechanism will afford our people the opportunity to notify the assembly through appropriate channel of their complaints which will be resolved by the ad-hoc Committee within a stipulated time frame.
“The committee must meet once in a week and if necessary, every 72 hours to see to issues of urgent publc importance with the aim of proffering solutions.”
