The State Government of Osun has announced its readiness to meet with religious leaders across the State to work out the modalities for the reopening of religious centres.
This follows the new set of directives and guidelines issued by the Federal Government of Nigeria in a new phase of the easing of lockdown, which takes effect from June 2nd 2020.
In a statement signed by the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation for the State of Osun, Mrs Funke Egbemode, the meeting with religious leaders becomes imperative to ensure proper implementation of the new set of guidelines.
The statement reads in part: “While we appreciate the patience of the citizens of the State of Osun so far, we are using this medium to urge citizens and residents not to be too anxious to assert the liberties contained in the new guidelines, so that we do not lose the gains that we have made over the last few weeks.”
“Although the Federal Government’s new set of guidelines takes effect from June 2nd 2020, the State Government is appealing to the citizens and residents of the State to exercise some patience, while it holds meetings with religious leaders across the State to work out the modalities for the reopening of worship centres”, it was added.
