A delegation of Oyo State government led by the state deputy governor, Engr. Raufu Olaniyan, were denied entry into the Oluyole residence of the late former governor, Abiola Ajimobi, venue of his 8th day Fidau Prayer.
Others in the delegation are Alhaja Amidat Agboola, head of service, Abiodun Abdul-Raheem, Commissioner for land and other notable government officials.
The death of Ajimobi has brought about accusations and counter accusations between the family of the deceased and his supporters on one hand and the state government led by Governor Seyi Makinde on the other, all centered on the burial arrangements of the former helmsman.
Security details attached to the venue were said to have resisted efforts to enter the venue, as they almost engaged in open confrontation with security details attached to Olaniyan.
Olaniyan, sources told OYOINSIGHT.COM, left after making frantic calls to people believed to close to the family.
Efforts to get late Ajimobi’s spokesperson, Mr. Bolaji Tunji, to react proved abortive as his number was not connecting as at press time. (Oyo Insight)
