The executives of Nasiru-Llahi-l-Fatih, NASFAT Youth wing, Osun Zone has embarked on continuous distribution of facemasks to its members and indigent persons in the society.

According to the Youth Secretary of NASFAT, Osun Zone, Tajudeen Olasupo, the move is to encourage members of the organization and other beneficiaries to continue to imbibe the use of facemasks in protecting themselves and others during this COVID-19 period. Olasupo also used the medium to call on youths to always follow government guidelines and adhere to hygienic practices of hand washing, use of hand sanitizers, physical distancing and avoidance of crowded places.

The launching event which was held at NASFAT Village, Osogbo in strict compliance with government directives on physical distancing had representatives of youths and NASFAT Chairmen from Osogbo and Ede Zone.

In his remarks, the Zonal Chairman of NASFAT, Osun Zone, Alhaji Sefiu Ayo Adewumi commended the youths for taking the initiative of distributing the facemasks and being at the forefront of various initiatives taken by NASFAT headquarters and the Zone since the beginning of the COVID-19 lockdown.


Thereafter, participants at the event deliberated on the incessant rape cases in the country. They condemned rape and rapists in strong terms and proffered solutions including diligent prosecution of rapists, passing stringent laws against rape, naming and shaming of rapists among other measures. The participants also took further stance against rape by displaying placards with inscriptions cautioning the society about the menace.

The distribution of facemasks has since moved to other zones of Ilesa, Oriade, Ife, Iwo, ikire, Ila and Ikirun where beneficiaries also commended the initiative.
