President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday received the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye at the Presidential Vila, Abuja.
The two men held a closed-door meeting for about twenty minutes with details not known.
While some believe Adeboye is regular visitor to the state house, others are of the opinion that the visit may not be unconnected to the ongoing debates on amended Company and Allied Matter Act 2020.
Popular Christian clerics like Bishop David Oyedepo, Primate Elisha Ayodele and Apostle Johnson Suleiman have condemned the parts of the law that give the government the power to appoint administrators for churches and non-governmental organisations under certain conditions.
Prominent civic groups in Nigeria, including the SERAP, have also complained about the new law.
