President Muhammadu Buhari is seeking the approval of the House of Representatives to make a refund of N147bn to five states for federal projects undertaken by them.

The states are Cross Rivers, Osun, Bayelsa, Rivers and Ondo, where governorship  election is holding next week.

The approval-seeking letter was read by the speaker of the house, Femi Gbajabiamila on Tuesday.

It would be recalled that Buhari last year approved a sum of N10bn for Kogi State, three day to their Governorship Election that was wom by Yahaya Bello.

In the House on Tuesday, opposition Lawmakers objected to the approval of the payment, stating that it should be delayed till after the election.

They, however only has their says as they were outvoted by the majority who are members of the ruling party.

Ondo is to her N7bn from the refund.
