The Kingmakers in Iwo land have dragged the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba AbdulRosheed Adewale Akanbi Telu 1 to court over allegation of threats to their lives.

The kingmakers in an affidavit sworn to at the Osun State High Court, Iwo division on Friday sought ex-parte order to protect the from planned withdrawal of their Chieftaincy tittles by the Oluwo.

They told the court that Oba Akanbi has asked their respective compound to nominate replacements for them as he has concluded plans to withdraw their titles.

The AFF was signed by the Oosa of Iwo land, Chief Yekeen Bello Orobimpe on behalf of the twelve kingmakers who had earlier petition Governor Gboyega Oyetola to level their allegations against the monarch.

In their ex-parte application, the chiefs asked the court to protect them from harassment from “thugs of Oluwo”.

The application reads, “That the other applicants and I have gathered from a reliable source that the Respondent has called on al the compounds of the Applicants to supply him names of those to be appointed kingmakers to replace as the Applicants

“That there are likelihood of the Respondent appointing persons from the Applicant compound to replace in due course unless this Honourable court wades into the matter to stop him.

“That other Applicants and I will suffer unjustly and lose our chieftains positions unless this Honourable court intervenes in our favour

“That the balance of convenience is weighted in favour of granting the relets sought

“That me other Applicants and I have undertaken to pay damages in case the application should not have been brought in the first instance. That it will be in the interest of justice to grant this application

“That wear to this affidavit in good faith Degloving same to be true and correct in accordance with the oath law.”
