Efforts by Ilobu community leaders led by the Olobu of Ilobu, Oba Asiru Olatoye Olaniyan toward the recovery of looted items from offices and residences are already paying off as larger percentage of the items have been recovered.
It would be recalled that some hoodlums on Saturday, October 24 invaded the community, looting several houses and offices in the community.
The community, angered by the development, swung into actions and engaged district heads to pass information to everyone that participated in the looting to return the items in the possessions.
This has continued to yield positive results as many of the looted items have been returned to the palace of Olobu by those who took them, while some others have were being dropped at the roadsides.
The Monarch on Sunday during a visitation to the council Secretariat and other affected areas, condemned the attack, stating that it goes completely against the ethos of virtue that the community represents.
Among the residential apartments looted and vandalized are those of Council Chairman, Abayomi Oyedeji; his elder brother, Late Sola Oyedeji; former secretary to the state government, Sola Akinwumi; and House of Assembly Member, Nasirudeen Olateju.
Offices vandalized are the council Secretariat, Independent National Electoral Commission, Department of State Service, State Universal Basic Education Board, Licensing office and All Progressives Congress party Secretariat.
