The Osun State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party has felicitated with the Muslims across the state over this year’s Eid-l-Mawlud, the birth of Prophet Muhammed.
The party in a statement by its Chairman, Sunday Bisi on Thursday urged the Islamic clerics in the state to reflect on the lessons of peace and tranquility that are inherent in the birth of the Holy Prophet.
Bisi said the Osun PDP is happy to welcome this incredible time of year again, the third month of the Islamic calendar, Rabi’ al-awwal, in which Eid el Maulud, symbolising the magnificent birth of holy Prophet Mohammed (S.A.W.W) is celebrated globally.
“We note, this year’s celebration is coming at a time the core essence of the holy Prophet, which is woven round unscrutinized love for one another is expected to occupy the center space of our hearts, individually and collectively.
“As we celebrate, our Islamic clerics in the state should please reflect on the peace and tranquility enshrined in the birth of the great Prophet and spare some thoughts of intercessory supplication for our dear state. It is our solemn belief that the most demanding moment to stand in the gap for the State for renewed mercies of almighty Allah on our dear state is now.
“This is also no doubt, a day to sweeten our hearts with flavors of love and the tongues to speak in delight, longing for one another in commual harmony and make our eyes glisten in hope of better days ahead.
“On behalf of all of us in Osun PDP, I wish the Muslim world happy celebrations. I pray Almighty Allah to make this day that of repentance, forgiveness and closeness to the teachings of the noble Prophet Mohammed who graced us at dawn on this blessed day.”
