Governor of Ondo State and candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the Saturday, October 10th governorship election, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN has been declared as the winner of the poll.

The Independent National Electoral Commission made the announcement on Sunday after completing collation of results from the eighteen local government areas of the state.

Returning Officer of the election, Professor Abel Idowu Olayinka while announcing the winner in Akure, the state capital said the Akeredolu polled 292,830 to defeat his closest rival, Eyitayo Jegede of the People’s Democratic Party who scored 196,791.

Akeredolu’s deputy and candidate of the Zenith Labour Party, Agboola Ajayi came a distant third with 69,127 votes.

Olayinka said Akeredolu won the constitutional requirements of 25% in two-thirds of the LGAs.
