The women wing of the People’s Democratic Party in Osun State have commenced grassroot mobilization ahead of 2022 Governorship Election in the state.
The women on Tuesday gathered at the state party secretariat in Osogbo to participate in a-day sensitization programme and prayer session organized by the office of the state women leader, in collaboration with Adeleke Women of Substance.
During the programme, women who cut across all local government areas and the areas office unanimously thanked God for allowing peace to return into their party in the state. They prayed for the success the party in future elections.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of Osun PDP, Sunday Akanfe Atidade, showered praises on the women for being the Pathfinders. He said the PDP in the state is positioned to win the future elections, starting from 2022.
Also speaking, the state women leader, Mrs Omowumi Otunla said the programme was majorly a prayer session for the success of the PDP in coming polls. She also expressed the readiness of the women in the grassroots to work and vote for PDP come 2022.
Leaders of Adeleke Women of Substance who spoke with our Correspondent described the PDP as the only Party that will “rescue the citizens from the APC”.
