Osun State Governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola has approved the naming of a structures in Osun State University, UNIOSUN after the immediate past Governor of the state and Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola.

disclosed this at the unveiling ceremony on Monday.
Ali said the governor also approved the naming of some infrastructure after the immediate past Chancellor of the University, Late Oba Okunade Sijuade, the Ooni of Ife; the pioneer Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the University, Professor Peter Okebukola.

Ali said, “As part of the activities of the 9th Convocation ceremony of the state university, he named the Engineering building of the University after the immediate past visitor to the University, Aregbesola.
The main Administrative Building of the university in Osogbo was also named after the pioneer Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the University, Professor Okebukola; while the access road to the College of Health Sciences of the University was named after the immediate past Chancellor of the University, Sijuade, the late Ooni of Ife.
Meanwhile, Oyetola named the road intersecting the Prince Tunde Ponnle Drive from the Main Entrance of the University after the current Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council of the University, Mallam Yusuf Ali.
In his remarks, Ali noted that Oyetola named key projects and roads of the University after some individuals who have impacted positively, which their legacies are currently helping the institution in moving to greater heights.
He said those honoured are people who “have set a high standard which we are currently building on.
“It is in our spirit of appreciation of their wonderful deeds that we came up with the naming of facilities and roads after them,” he said.
