Stakeholders of the National Association of Nigerian Students in the southwest have agreed to work together towards a united NANS in the forthcoming national convention.
The leaders, in a communique after a meeting held in Osogbo, Osun State capital on Monday, said they would ensure that the association is not polarized as a result of the outcome of the convention.
The communique was signed by Comrade Akinteye Babatunde Azeez and Comrade Opakunle Oluwafunmibi Mayowa, the joint campus committee chairmen of Ondo and Oyo States respectively.
InsightMedia gathered that the convention, scheduled for Abuja later this month, is expected to produce a president from the region.

2) House agreed that the meeting be moderated by Hon Olusegun Olaleye while the JCC Chairmen constitute the Communique Drafting Committee
3) Meeting discussed the state of NANS National. Everyone agreed to the need for the Zone to have a common front on the forthcoming National Convention to prevent factionalization of the association
4) All Aspirants present agreed to the unity of the association. It was however noted that this can only be guaranteed by a credible and transparent electoral process in a unified national convention
5) The Elders (notably Hon Olaleye and Babarinde) were saddled with the responsibility of engaging the National Executives, and leaders across the 4 zones on the need to have a Unified CPC to midwife a SINGLE convention to be held between the last week in November and the first weekend in December at the Old Parade Ground, Abuja
6) The meeting was concluded at exactly 6:15pm with chants of the solidarity anthem.
