The Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki and his Deputy, Phillip Shaibu have been sworn-in for a second term in office.

Obaseki was sworn-in at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin, the state capital, on Thursday.

The incumbent governor had defeated his closest rival, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu during the last governorship election in the state.

Obaseki, who was the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, had defeated Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

In his inaugural address, Obaseki appreciated the people of the state for reposing their confidence in him. He said his administration will work to consolidate its achievements in the first term.

The governor unveiled his plan to ensure realization of the Make Edo Great Again agenda.
