The Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Lagos State has arrested two suspected passengers for allegedly smuggled 16.65 kilograms of cocaine worth billions of naira into the country.

The names of these two suspected passengers who allegedly smuggled cocaine from Sao Paulo,Brazil to Nigeria before they were being caught are Okwubunne Chidiebere Simeon and Aniakar Uchenna James.

They were arrested on Wednesday, 28th of October 2020, on their arrival from Sao Paulo, Brazil with 10.40 kgs and 6.25 kgs of cocaine respectively.

The items were concealed in eight children’s duvets which contained seven absorbent towels.

The towels were soaked with cocaine while the remaining drugs were neatly and cleverly concealed in tin cans labelled Schramn.

With the street value of a cocaine worth about N135, 000 at per gram, depending on the country, the seizures are worth over N2bn.
