Staff of the Ministry of Political Affairs and Intergovernmental Relations were on Thursday full of praises for the outgoing Coordinating Director of the Ministry, Mr Oladimeji Sunday Afolabi.

Afolabi, who is retiring this month, served as the pioneer coordinating director of the ministry.

The Commissioner, Taiwo Akeju, staff of the ministry, family and friends on Thursday gathered to hold a send forth programme in Afolabi’s honour.

Speaking at the event, Akeju described the outgoing director as a man of many parts, who would be greatly missed by the staff of the Ministry. He said Afolabi gave his best to the service of the state, adding that his administrative acumen was never in doubt.

The Commissioner added that the send forth is first of its kind and it receives the blessings of Governor Gboyega Oyetola, who sent his best wishes to the retiring officer.

Staff, family members and friends of Afolabi also took turns to speak about the personality of their boss and brother.

They all emphasized on his charming character, integrity, brilliance and compassionate care for humanity.

In his vote of thanks, Afolabi appreciated the governor for granting the approval for the event to hold. He also appreciated the Commissioner and staff of the ministry for the love shown to him during his time as the coordinating Director of the ministry.

He also promised to always make himself available when needed for training and other ways he can still contribute to the service of the state.
