Hundreds of residents of Lagos, who are indigenes of Osun State and wish to celebrate the New Year with their families and friends have again benefitted from the free train ride initiative of Osun State Government.
The travellers, who arrived Osogbo from Lagos on Wednesday night, were full of praises to the administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola for the gesture.
They were received by the government team led by Bode Olanipekun, the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry.
Olanipekun said the success recorded in bringing people to the state is as a result of Governor Oyetola’s commitment to promises made to people.

“The success recorded is because our Governor is always committed to his promises. This is interesting and I’m elated to see another round of passengers touching the soil of Osogbo this evening.
“The train will depart for Lagos on Sunday. Passengers are expected to start boarding by 10am as the train will leave by 12noon.” Olanipekun said.
The Commissioner also called on the residents of the state to pay their taxes in order to ensure that more dividends of democracy is taken to their doorsteps.
Speaking with newsmen, a mother of three, Mrs Titilayo Ayodele commended the Government for providing them succor, adding that it goes a long way to safe cost.
She said, “we thank the governor for not neglecting us. The economy is hard now and with this initiative, I know I have been able to save N7,000 which could have by the cost of transportation. We appreciate them (Government) and we pray that their administration will succeed.”
Another beneficiary, Mr Ezekiel Olaniyi also showered praises on the Government for the initiative. He described the journey as seemless. When asked if he paid to anyone, Olaniyi simply said “we didn’t pay any money”.
