Pls what is expected of him to merit this “not doing well uncomplimentary remarks”
The continued disparaging of our lawmakers at both State and National levels seems to be coming out of ignorance of the actual workings and efforts of the elected law makers among us, most especially the Osun PDP legislators who have been using their personal efforts to let them be acceptable and ensure that they fulfil their electoral promises to Osun people that elected them.

What we have reduced lawmakers to is to build few blocks of classrooms and use the rest to personally enrich few leaders but the recent changes in the political calculations have improved the mode of performance of our legislators to the one that will have direct impact on the society and not just few individuals.
The focus of this article will be the lawmakers on the Platform of PDP and our first series will be the SCORE CARD OF SENATOR FRANCIS ADENIGBA FADAHUNSI IN THE LAST 18 MONTHS IN THE SENATE:
Chronicles of a silent performer:
(1) He has in Ife central and Atakumosa East built blocks of classrooms.
(2) Solar powered boreholes has been provided in 8 out of the 10 Local governments areas of the Senatorial District and others are still ongoing.
(2) Transformers are being supplied and that of Ife North has been installed while that of Idasa’ base will be ready latest by 4th of January, 2021.
(3) He has connected ward 7 and 8 of Atakumosa East to the National grid and as we speak, the problems of electricity in those two wards is now history.
(4) Senator Francis Fadahunsi has also facilitated how not less than 800 women and youth were trained and got start up funds for various trades in the last 18 months despite the disruption of business activities by the COVID-19 pandemic.

(5) It is also worthy of note that apart from not failing in making available various requests for cash gifts Senator Francis Fadahunsi is also sponsoring about 308 youths who are at their various levels of completion of their different trainings, all of who will get their trade equipments this January of 2021.
(6) Senator Fadahunsi has facilitated minimum of 2.2M loan for 55 party members. This to any responsible person the REAL needed empowerment that can create jobs for the beneficiaries and they in turn will become employers of labour, this is far better than some people who are in the habit of waiting for stipends and cash gifts from politicians at all times.
(7) Since his assumption of office in the hallowed Red Chamber, Senator Fadahunsi has raised several bills and motions on the floor of the Senate and he is not a redundant or push over among his colleagues despite being a first timer in the Senate.
(8) Because of the agrarian status of Osun State and also because of our status as one of the leading Cocoa producers, not only in Nigeria but in the entire West African Sub-Region, He has facilitated training on Cocoa farming and another by the Export Promotion Council which was aimed at improving the economic status of Osun state in particular and also to assist the economic diversification of the country as a whole.
(9) It is no gain saying the fact that it was our amiable Senator that met with the Honourable Minister of Works, Babatunde Raji Fashola before the little funds for Idominasi road rehabilitation was put in place. We cannot pretend as if we are not aware of the deplorable condition this road was left and ignored by the successive governments in the state before the emergence of Senator Fadahunsi as our Senator.
(10) We also have it on records that it is the same Senator Fadahunsi that got the ministry of works to rehabilitate Ipetu Ijesa- Ile Oluji axis road, that’s a 451M project in a Senatorial district. Obviously, getting this done in a state that is controlled by a senator of an opposition political party is no small achievement by any means.
(11) As part of his tradition even when he was in service of the Nigerian Customs Service, NCS, to get employment slots for the people of the state, Senator Fadahunsi again as a Senator of the Federal Republic has facilitated employments for various youths of the Osun East Senatorial District at the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan, also at the Nigerian Correctional Centre, , NCS,Trade Negotiation Office, the Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS and the Nigerian Hajj commission. These are pensionable employments that were not possible during the tenure of our senators under APC political office holders in the senatorial district and those who are criticizing Senator Fadahunsi today would have done better by putting him side by side with the performance of his predecessor for 8 years and tell us know which is preferable to them and the benefiting society.

(12) Without being immodest, it is common knowledge to say that Senator Fadahunsi did direct transfer of various sums of money to thousands of people during the lockdown running into millions of Naira and he also evidently distributed several food items worth more than N50m to various individuals and communities.
(13) Senator Fadahunsi is also reputed to have assisted with admission of indigents students into some very competitive institutions such as the Police academy within this short period that he got to the Senate without being announced.
(14) He has also confirmed to have been giving food items, clothes and stipends in form of cash and other materials, according to their requests, to widows, the orphans and the vulnerable in the society on regular basis without the attendant noise of such gesture which he considered should be made public at all, in fact, he was said to have given strict instructions to his aides not to make mention of it at all.
(15) Senator Fadahunsi has like no other Senator before him has fought for the interests of the people of Osun East, otherwise known as Ife-Ijesa Senatorial District at different fora including the recent dehumanization of people after the #EndSARS protests which got some Airforce personnels punished for misconduct, the video of which went viral and is still available on line.
(16) Aside doing a lot of unannounced beneficial projects for his people we cannot do away with mentioning the various reconstruction of the Town Hall in Ilesa West which has received accolades from the entire Ijesa sons and daughters of all political extractions as a good gesture which is a sign of good governance on the part of the Senator.
(17) Added to the list of performance by the Senator is various Constructions of town halls that was indiscriminately scattered across communities communities in Obokun Local Governments which has further made him much more acceptable to people from the ruling party who don’t have nothing other than praises of our Senator who they have described as apolitical and unbiased in all his activities.
(18) Empowerment of Youths across the ten local government and the area office by Senator Francis Fadahunsi began in Osun East shortly before the COVID-19 lock down which had to be postponed till Wednesday, 16th September, 2020. It cut across the whole Osun East senatorial district and 308 young men and women benefitted from it which include Tailoring, Shoe building, Vulcanizing, Hair dressing, Furniture/Carpentry, Barbing, Soap making and many others. It must however be cleared that these various training and empowerment programs were responded to by the Senator according to the requests by the participants because we cannot all be in the same trade and they are all happy with the responses by the Senator to their requests.
(19) Donation of two brand new Chasis buses, 11 seater and 15 seater, worth N18m to the Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, the PDP which is a rare feat since coming to power of this present administration.
It must also be stated that some categories of these participants of certain training programs were placed on monthly stipends for the through out the period of their vocational trainings and their needed equipments shall be handed over to them after the training to enable them stand on their own.
A little Digression:
As at today we have one senator that is serving under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party from Osun State, Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, while two others are from APC, Dr. Ajibola Bashiru and Senator Oriolowo from Osun Central and West Respectively.
We also have three members of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Busayo Oluwole Oke, from Ijesa North, Hon. Taofeek Abimbola Ajilesoro from Ife Federal Constituency and Hon. Bamidele Salam from Ede/Egbedore/Ejigbo federal constituency, out of the 9 members of the House of Representatives members from Osun State, only these three men are pulling the strings of developments in their various constituencies.
So also we have three State House of Assembly members from Obokun, Ede North and South State Constituencies who have been making their presence felt at their various levels of abilities, we don’t have any news about the remaining 23 members from the APC in the state.
Unfortunately, it is these PDP elected parliamentarians that are being serially accused and disparaged by their own people, not because they didn’t do well, according to recent findings, because they didn’t give all they are doing for the generality of the people to enrich their traducers and detractors personally.
Our sincere advice to those who see nothing good in our performing National Assembly member, Senator Fadahunsi and other NASS members is to ask questions about what they are ignorant of and get the adequate information on other areas of performance they need to be informed about than the blanket “he is not doing well” because it they will change their songs to “he is not doing enough” which we think will be better, and this last assertion will put the performing Senator on guard to look into areas where he needs to make amends because he is human and has never claimed to be an island of knowledge.
In actual fact he needs our criticisms as a means of making the necessary corrections and additions to where everyone thinks he should because those who need water may not appreciate provisions of electricity, so our final advice to whoever that want to criticize our elected parliamentarians should point their own areas of needs instead of outrigjtly making statements that are uncomplimentary to the performing politicians.
