Truly, man’s nature speaks on the basis of his relationship either direct or indirect. For Prof. Siyan Oyeweso, the nature of his behavior speaks good of him at all times. Prof.Oyeweso, is not just an erudite or garlanded Scholar of History but one with thorough native intelligent of our time, whom everyone must behold on the sage to dispense his talent on the stage for human existence.
There’s no density or infallibility that measures a leader with passion and missions but through actions and dedication towards achieving uncommon goals and ability of a good sense of belongings accelerated with sense of reasonings is highly called a leader! Truly you’re a leader.
Prof. Siyan Oyeweso, who was born on February 1, 1961, is a distinguished alumnus of University of Ife, Ile-Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University).
He holds B.A. (Hons) Degree in History (Second Class Upper Division), M.A.History and Ph.D Intellectual History.
Prof. Oyeweso started his academic career in 1985 as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of History, Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos State.
He attained the rank of Lecturer II in 1987, and was promoted to Lecturer Grade I in 1989 and Senior Lecturer in 1992. He was appointed an Associate Professor in 2001 and Professor in July2004.
Prof. Oyeweso is a Professor of History and one of Nigeria’s leading academics who have authored dozens of books with over 200 publications.
Currently, Prof. Oyeweso is the Executive Director, Centre for Black Culture and International Understanding, Abere, Osun State. In addition Prof. Oyeweso is a member of Governing Council Federal Polytechnic Ede, Osun State.
History will never forget a man who turned a town to a city and a man who turned a city to a town. Your leadership cum-cum beyond what one can measured or weigh because of your accuracy, intelligence, orientation, diplomacy, articulate, prudence, application and value as all signify that you’re a true leader and a father who beyond thousands of being.
Notably, Prof.Oyeweso; Is very calm but not gentle; fearless but not careless; careful but not fearful; pensive but very decisive to cap it all humble and docile in his nature.
