A pan Yoruba ethnic group, Yoruba Voice of Liberation has called on politics leaders in the southwest, traditional rulers and influential individuals to commence process of safeguarding the entire race.
The group made the call in a communiqué in response to ethnic tensions caused by terrorism and extra judicial killings as well as orchestrated violence against some sections of the country..
The call for self preservation is a direct response to incessant attacks by Fulani herdsmen in some States in the southwest with attendant mayhem,threats to lives and properties,rape and kidnapping.
The communique, endorsed by the President of Yoruba voice of liberation, Comrade Ayo Faleti and its secretary General, Comrade Ademola Adekunle alluded to the recent statement credited to Nigeria Defence Minister, Major General Bashir Magashi (rtd) where he called on Nigerians to square up with bandits to press home the advocate for self protection by the Yorubas.
The group frowned at what it described as double standard by the federal government in dealing with criminals unequally.
