Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have killed a person and kidnapped many others along Osogbo-Ibokun road in Obokun local government area of Osun.
The incident happened on Tuesday near a village called Ajebandele, some few kilometers to Osogbo.
According to the Field Commander of Osun Security Network known as Amotekun Corps, Amitolu Shittu, the deceased was shot dead by the assailants using AK-47 ammunition.
Shittu said he received a distress call later on Tuesday and he led his men to the area where they met the vehicle at the spot.
“I got a distress call and I led my men to the spot. When we got there we saw AK-47 bullet case and corpse of man believed to be in his twenties. We have combed the area and we will continue that today to rescue the abducted ones.
“I must give kudos to the DPO Obokun and and the Area Commander of that area as we’re there together till 2am searching for the kidnapped and evidences.
“We have taken the corpse to the morgue of Osun State General Hospital at Asubiaro in Osogbo.”
