The Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party in Osun State, Hon. Sunday Bisi has stated that the chances of the party in the 2022 Governorship election in the state is brighter than 2018.

Bisi stated this while speaking with journalists at the party Secretariat in Osogbo, after an inter-religious prayer session organized by the party leadership.

He said the time has come for the party to commence work towards a victorious outing in 2022 Governorship Election in the state, adding that the party leadership will engage the aggrieved individuals to bring about genuine reconcillation

Bisi said, “today, as we are gathered in unison, to reinvent our focus on the victory that lies ahead of us for the good of our dear state, it is not a day of lengthy talk or unnecessary brickbats, it is simply a day to restart and move with speed of jet for the tasks ahead of us as a party. As stakeholders in the business of Osun State who are genuinely concerned by the present aberrations being dished out by the obvious misfits in government, we cannot afford to be busy on frivolities of unpleasant distractions.

“The onus of leading the teeming army of our people to restore Osun State for the people of the State has fallen on us at this time and we must appreciate that while we do our things as registered members of the party. A political party of our standing should have a workable, feasible and purposeful path of engagements into the climax of the battle ahead of us, and that is the path I am prepared to lead the PDP in Osun State at this time It is not a time to dwell in the past, it is a time to move forward. It is a time to be business-like and not any unfruitful ‘busy-ness'”

“After today’s prayers to the almighty God, I assure you all, leaders and members of our party that all necessary processes required to smoothen our way into the battle field of 2022 shall be reactivated in earnest as we charge unwaveringly towards the goal ahead.”

Present at the prayer session were party leaders and followers from across the 30 local government areas of Osun State, while the Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Prince Diran Odeyemi represented the national Chairman of the PDP at the event.

Reverend Funsho Ishola led the Christian prayer session, while Sheikh Ibrahim led Islamic prayer for the party. They both prayer for peaceful coexistence within the party.
