A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Honourable David Ayodele Asalu has congratulated Hon. Sunday Bisi on his reinstatement as the Chairman of the party in the state by the Court of Appeal sitting in Akure, saying the court verdict is a victory for all.
On Friday, the Court of Appeal sitting in Akure, the Ondo State capital, sets aside an injunction by an Osun State High Court that recognises Mr Soji Adagunodo as the Chairman, thereby restoring the position of the National Working Committee of the PDP which affirmed Sunday Bisi as the State Chairman.
Reacting to the judgement in a statement on Friday, Hon. Asalu said the judiciary has done justice to the leadership tussle that plaqued the party for so long, calling on all leaders and members to accept the judgement in order to move the party forward.
“Today’s verdict is for PDP and as such, there are no winners or losers,” he declared, saying that “With the judgement putting to an end the controversy of who is the chairman of the party in Osun state, Mr Sunday Bisi and his team have the important task of bringing everyone together for the success of the party.”
Hon. Asalu called on those with grievances to shelve their sword and join hands with Mr Bisi to move the party forward, noting that “as a family, it is not unusual to disagree, what is important is to find a common ground to achieve collective goal.”
“On that strength, I appeal to anyone with grievances to shelve them and embrace unity in the interest of the party so as to deliver victory for PDP and the suffering masses of Osun state who are looking onto the party for restoration.”
