The students of the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, has on Monday 24th,May protest over the 50 million ransom demanded by the kidnappers of their colleague.

 

In the late hour of yesterday,Toyinbo Nathaniel Olayinka was abducted by an unknown gun men in a private farm where he practice livestock to sustain himself in Abule Itoko, Odeda Ibadan road.

Olayinka is a 400 level student of the department of Aquaculture and fisheries management, College of environmental resources management, federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta. He has been practicing livestock farming for the past three years to sustain himself as a student.

 

The head, Directorate of Public Relations FUNAAB,Mr. Kola Adepoju discloses in a statement that the village where Nathaniel was being abducted is 20minutes drive from the school, Alabata.

 

The abduction has been reported to the Ogun State Police Command head quarter Eleweeran and investigation has began.

 

In addition, the student Union government of the institution issued a notice yesterday calling for an emergency meeting for all departmental presidents and class governors.

 

The meeting led to a peaceful protest at the front of the institution. Many students were found carrying placard “Na school we come we no come pay ransom”, ” our school fees is 35 thousand how we go fit pay 50million ransom” and “freedom is free,free Nathaniel” respectively
