A former special adviser to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, on Political Matters, Ahmed Gulak has been shot dead.

Report had it that Gulak was killed by unknown gunmen while returning to Abuja from Owerri.

Disclosing this, Gulak’s daughter, @Muneerahaag via her Tweeter handle said: “I just lost my dad please put him in your Dua.

Thank you as you do so. Allaahummaghfir li (Ahmed Ali Gulak) warfa’ darajatahu fil-mahdiyyeena, wakhlufhu fee ‘aqibihi fil-ghaabireena , waghfir-lanaa wa lahu yaa Rabbal-‘aalameena, wafsah lahu fee qabrihi wa nawwir lahu feehi”

He was on a visit to Governor Hope Uzodimma and was on his way to the airport to board aircraft to Abuja before he was ambushed by his assailants.

Gulak was the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress Governorship primaries in Imo state that handed over the ticket of the party to Governor Hope Uzodimma against the wish of the then governor, Rochas Okorocha who was hellbent on having his son-in-law as candidate.

The crisis generated severally as Gulak also accused Okorocha of offering him $2m bribe, an allegation strongly denied by Okorocha.
