Leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress in Ijesha North Federal Constituency of Osun State have described the state Civil service before Governor Gboyega Oyetola took over as one “crippled by mistrust and malice”.
The leaders, who gathered at the party Secretariat in Ibokun, dissociated themselves from The Osun Progressives, a group spearheaded by the immediate past Governor and Minister of interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.
According to a communique read by Chief Jumoke Ogunkeyede after the stakeholders meeting to reaffirm their endorsement of Governor Oyetola, the party leaders and followers described members of TOP as disgruntled elements who have allowed themselves to be willing tools in the hands of devil.
The communique partly read, “Our amiable Governor inherited a civil service crippled by feelings of mistrust, malice and distrust. The public service which is the hub of implementation of policies of the government was in the worst situation, resulting into disillusioned and despondent workforce. Largely, the governor has been able to build a responsible workforce for the implementation of government policies.
“It’s unfortunate that with all the giant strides of Mr Governor in the state, some disgruntled elements under the guise of The Osun Progressive (TOP) have made themselves willing tools in the hand of devil, all with the aim of distracting the Governor from properly managing the State economy which was once crippled. We will use all our arsenal to stand with Mr Governor to continue his good work beyond 2022. Also, we will resist the disgruntled ones until they retrace their steps back into the progressive fold and team up with the People’s Governor, whose hardwork has been earning him accolades within the state and in Nigeria.
“Under no circumstances will the leadership and members of the APC in Ijesha North Federal Constituency abandon the truly progressive efforts of our amiable and goal-getting Governor for a group whose only cause for action is crude hatred.
“Though, Ijesha North Federal Constituency on September 29th 2020 endorsed Governor Gboyega Oyetola for another term, we are today affirming our earlier position.
“The entire member of Ijesha North Federal Constituency dissociates ourselves from the illegal group known as TOP, and urge the party leadership to use the available organs to handle those involved and those associating themselves to the group.”
Present at the conference were the Constituency leader, Chief Gabriel Ogunsanya; Commissioner for Lands, Nathaniel Agunbiade; Special Adviser to the Governor on Civic Engagement, Bosun Oyintiloye; former Oriade Chairman, Bunmi Obeisun; Among other party leaders.
