Leaders of the People’s Democratic Party in Osun East Senatorial District have welcome the former Chairman of Atakumosa East local government, Mr Sanya Omirin to 2022 Governorship race.
The party leader, who held a meeting in Ilesha on Sunday, said they have not anointed any candidate for party’s ticket come 2022.
According to a communique released after the meeting and signed by Senatorial Chairman, Wale Ojo, the 49 PDP leaders who were at the meeting noted that the door is open for any member of the party to aspire to be the party’s candidate come 2022, stating that adoption of an Aspirant opposes the ethos of the party.
“Any group or forum that has adopted any Aspirant as the sole Governorship candidate of the PDP in Osun State at this time negates the party’s constitution, rules and procedures.” The communique partly read.
“Henceforth, the the Senatorial meeting shall be rotated among the three federal constituencies in the Zone and that such meeting should start holding immediately and frequently too.”
The communique also endorse the aspiration Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola for the National Chairman of the PDP.
