Despite the intimation, shooting and firing of teargas canisters by men of the Nigeria Police, Army and the Department of State Security, Yoruba Nation activists went on to hold their rally in Lagos State.
InsightMedia has reported that police have taken over the Gani Fawehinmi square at Ojota, the venue of the rally.
Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Hakeem Odumosu led security operatives to the venue as early as 7am on Saturday. They stationed themselves and their Armoured Personnel Carriers at all entries into the venue.
The traditionalists accompanied by other Protesters chanted “Oduduwa Nation now”, “Yoruba Nation Now”
However, agitators gathered at the venue to express themselves, although, amidst shooting by the police.
