APPREHENSION, Tuesday, enveloped Asaba, the Delta State capital, following killing of six persons suspected to be secret cult members in what appeared to be a reprisal attack.
The killings of the six persons in a separate attack, came after former Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE Chairman was shot dead on Monday morning in the capital city.
Insight Media gathered that one of the six persons killed was beheaded, adding that the six persons were killed between 6pm Monday evening and 7am Tuesday including a 67-year-old surveyor in Asaba, Ifeanyi Nwokobia.

A source told newsmen that Nwokobia, was killed in his house at Umuagu, opposite the Stephen Keshi Stadium around 6pm while five yet-to-be identified others were killed in saperate locations within state capital in a reprisal attack.
The source who pleaded anonymity, said the head of person beheaded, his head was found at the Oshimili South Local government junction early Tuesday morning while his body was dropped at Otuagu area of Asaba.
When contacted, the acting Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO in the State, DSP Bright Edafe who confirmed the killings, said he was aware of three persons and not six.
Hear Edafe: “The piece of information we have here confirms three killed and it is about cult related matter. The police are on of the situation.”
