Federal and State governments have been advised to include talents development and skills acquisition in the school curriculum for basic education across the country.

This was the hallmark of discussion on Friday, at the 7th anniversary and endowment funds raising of Oasis Royal Academy, Okinni and Osogbo.

The event, which coincides with the End of the Year Party of the school, had Royal Father, House of Representatives Members, Parents and Guardians of the pupils and students present. Attendees used the avenue to shower praises on the proprietors of the school – Representative Bamidele Salam and his wife, Oluseyi Salam.

Addressing the gathering, the Royal Father of the Day, Oba Dokun Abolarin described investment in education as the best some can have in his life.

The monarch said “even though there’s a room for improvement, education in Nigeria is developing with advent of technology and innovative ideas.” He called on government to inculcate talents development and skill acquisition into school curricula in order to build complete human beings.

Speaking with newsmen, Chairman of the Occasion, Representative Aminu Shagari of Yabo/Shagari federal constituency of Sokoto State, commended the initiative of Hon. Salam and his wife. He called on general public to support the initiative as it will go a long way in moulding and shaping the future of the younger generation.

He said, ” I’m motivated with what my friend and colleague, Hon. Salam is doing here in Osun State. I’m proud of this as I believe it will help moulding and shaping future of young ones. I think all our colleagues should emulate this as I believe it will help their constituents.”

Shagari called for recognition of talents and skills above certification, stating that innovation and ideals rule the world.

Another lawmaker, Representative Edun Olanrewaju also shower praises on his colleagues for the initiative.

Olanrewaju commended the students and pupils of the Oasis Royal Academy for their brilliant display, which according to his, “shows the standard of education that abounds in the school.”

Addressing the crowd, Salam said he abd his wife are moved by the need to have impact on the people. He narrated that the school management went to public schools in Okinni to conduct exam for students two best students were given scholarship and at Oasis Royal Academy. One of the students completed his primary education on Friday.

“This is what my wife and I decided to do to help improve the education standards. We believe the greatest impact one can make in lives of others is in education. We started in the year 2014 and since then, we have been moving from strength to strength.”

Some of the parents who spoke with InsightMedia commended the quality education that their wards get at Oasis Royal Academy.
