• GMD commends Governor AbdulRazaq, woos travellers
The management of Harmony Holdings Limited has on Monday opened up the newly built passengers service terminal of Harmony Transport Services Limited (Kwara Express) for use.
The establishment of the terminal forms a vital aspect of the turnaround management and reforms agenda currently ongoing at the age-old transport company under the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
Described by customers as a laudable initiative that will go a long way to comfort them and redeem the image of Kwara Express, the new passengers service terminal is an edifice furnished with facilities that will give customers a memorable and interesting travelling experience.
It brings an end to the old days of passengers loitering and hanging around to await their travel turns.
Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Harmony Holdings Limited, Mallam Abdullahi Abdulmajeed commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for providing the much needed backing to reinvent Kwara Express.
“The opening of the newly built passengers service terminal of Kwara Express represents a milestone in our bid to reposition and turn around the age-old transport company. I commend specially His Excellency Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Executive Governor of Kwara State for his all-time support to us on the Kwara Express project. There have been naysayings here and there over Kwara Express, but with the unflinching support and resolute commitment of His Excellency, we have been able to push through,” Abdulmajeed said in a statement by the Corporate Affairs Unit.
“The passengers service terminal is just one of our numerous plans to turnaround Kwara Express. In fact, it’s one of the short term plans; we have mid term and long term plans in the pipeline. Ultimately, our vision is to make Kwara Express a state-of-the-art transport facility and the go-to place for logistics and haulage services in the region. Despite what appears like an insurmountable problem we inherited, we are picking up the gauntlet and rising up to the challenge.
“I thank distinguished members of the BRIC committee for their efforts. Their names have been recorded in the book of history. I also appreciate all the committed members of staff, both of the holding company and Kwara Express for their inputs in arriving here. My charge to them is not to relent. The walk to a prosperous Kwara Express is still long, and we cannot afford to stop now. In the end, we will all be better for it.”
The GMD/CEO also hinted that the terminal will eventually be commisisoned by His Excellency along with our additional fleet of new vehicles when delivery is taken before the end of the year.
“Our luxury fleet offering will also be commencing around that time with smaller vehicles, SUVs and air-conditioned rides to major destinations,” he added.
The Harmony Holdings boss meanwhile called on travellers to patronize Kwara Express and give it the maximum support it requires.
He noted that Harmony Holdings is open to feedbacks, observations and suggestions that will take Kwara Express to greater heights.
“I plead with our customers to overlook whatever has happened in the past about Kwara Express as it’s currently undergoing repositioning. The new Kwara Express that is unfolding is primed to serve them better. We will always welcome feedbacks and suggestions to move forward and better our services.”
