House of Representatives Member representing Ayedaade, Irewole and Isokan federal constituency, Hon. Taiwo Olukemi Oluga has stated that her stay in the Green Chambers of the Nation’s Parliament has brought succor to over thousands of individuals and groups within her constituency.
Oluga stated this on Monday when she featured at a Media Parley organized by the Osun Online Media Practitioners Association in Osogbo.
The lawmaker said her has been able to move several motions that have in turn, benefitted her constituents, when her bills on in just two years are up to nine.
“I have a motion on quality and compulsory education. This is one of the amendments of the constitution that’s ongoing. Also, I have a bill on price regulatory and control. This is aimed at stemming the tide of food inflation across the country. Another one is a bill on patent control. The bill was enacted in the 1977 and it’s obsolete.”

“Sometimes last year, they did the ranking and I was ranked among the best 10 first timer lawmakers with highest bills and motions on the floor of the Chamber,” Oluga said.
According to her, apart from motions and bills on the floor of the Chamber, she has been able to empower thousands of youths, local farmers and market women through different empowerment schemes.
The Lawmaker said, “when I assumed office, I asked recruited no fewer than 50 youths into a scheme similar to OYES. They are posted to schools across the three local government areas of our federal constituency where they work with teachers and also in some Primary Healthcare Centers assisting the staff. These are people that on monthly basis collect N10,000 as stipend from my personal purse. During COVID-19, we gathered them again and trained them on vocational training. Today, they are not only working, they are also skilled.
“Also in education, we have been able to equip some schools and on yearly basis, we have Taiwo Oluga Competition, where several students get scholarship to further their education.
“In my constituency, I realized that many local women who are into palm oil processing lack equipment to aid their works. I gathered them, put them in groups and bought the items for them.”
She said over 400 persons have been trained on various skills with start-up capital giving to them in the last two years.
