The Chief Whip of the Osun State House of Assembly, Tunde Olatunji on Monday repeated his usual practice of visiting secondary schools in his constituency to teach students.
Olatunji joined the teachers of Origbo Community High School, Ipetumodu as the resumed for another session on Monday.
The lawmaker made this known in a statement he put on his social media on Tuesday. He also used the opportunity to celebrate girl child as Monday was a day set aside to celebrate girl child across the globe.
He wrote, “It was a great moment on his for me and my students as I resumed teaching on the first day of the new academic session at Origbo Community High School, Ipetumodu, yesterday, 11th October, 2021. Interestingly, the day coincided with the International Day of the Girl.
“I resumed at 7:15 am and I charged our students on the purpose of education and how to get their priorities right. My speech on the assembly ground was aimed at boosting their self-confidence and inspire them to perform better in school and pursue excellence in life.
“More importantly, I celebrated all our girls and encouraged them to be determined to break barriers and overcome the challenges confronting the girĺ child.
“My first subject was civic education and the class was quite interactive. The students were so engaging and willing to learn. They really made my day.”
Olatunji has made it a point of duty to at intervals visit schools in the State to teach the students.
