The Minority caucus in the Osun State House of Assembly has congratulated Muslim faithful across the State on this year’s celebration of Eid-l-Mawlud.
The caucus in a statement by its Leader, Nurudeen Babajide Adewumi described Prophet Muhammad as the greatest gift to mankind, urging Nigerians to follow the Prophet’s footpaths.
Adewumi said, “I join the Muslim Ummah across the globe to celebrate this year’s Maulud. Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) remain the greatest gift to mankind and as we mark the occasion of his birth, we should let his example of peace and unity reflect in us.
“As much as this moment calls for celebrations, we must however let the message of peace and togetherness that defines Prophet Muhammad inspire us to embrace neighbours, notwithstanding partisan, religion and ethnic difference and co-exist without rancour.
“In the spirit of this year’s Maulud Nabiyy, we must renew our commitments to the promotion of a healthy society, where individual and collective aspirations can be met without hindrance.
“My prayer is that this celebration shall herald renewed commitment to the growth and development of Osun state, and Nigeria as a whole.”
