Four teams to slug it out in the football semi final of the ongoing Osun Sports Festival have emerged as all quarter final matches slated for Friday were held across designated venues in Osogbo, Okuku and Iloko Ijesha.

In a clash of Titans which took place at the Ebunoluwa International School, Osogbo, a 20-yard stunner by Adeyemo Sodiq in the 67th minute ousted a star-studded Ifelodun FC who had initially been tagged one of the favourites to reach the final.

In a related development, the same scoreline was enough to power Odo Otin to the semi-final in another fierce fixture at Ebunoluwa International School, Osogbo. The lone goal was scored by Aminu Wasiu in the 69th minute as Ilesha West’s efforts to force the game to a shootout were thwarted.

In Okuku centre, which hosted Osun West Senatorial District derby between Irewole and Ejigbo, two first half goals from Oluwin Jamal and Alarape Olaide in the 3rd and 24th minutes respectively catapulted Ejigbo into the semi final.

Meanwhile, three solemn strikes by Sodiq Ajiferuke, Tomiwa Awojobi and Samson Adekunle comfortably relegated Boripe FC back to Iragbiji empty-handed as Ejigbo recorded massive victory enroute the semis.

The two semi final matches will hold on Monday, September 4, 2021.
