The Publisher of Insight Multi-Links Media and Chairman, Osun Online Media Practitioners Association, Mr Jare Tiamiyu was on Tuesday honoured by the Department of Mass Communications, The Polytechnic, Iresi, Osun State.
The Award was presented during the final of the maiden Inter-faculty debate competition organised by the institution.
Rector of the institution, Dr Kamorudeen Oluwatoyin Kadiri, commended the efforts of Tiamiyu towards the development of new age media and community-based journalism.
The interdepartmental debate between the faculty of Management Studies and the faculty of Sciences and engineering with the management studies emerging victorious.
Presenting the Award, Dr Kadiri commended Tiamiyu for what he has done in the State, adding that the school is proud to associate with people like him.
“Mr Tiamiyu, we appreciate what you’re doing in the area of journalism and community development. We are proud to associate with you and on behalf of the management of this institution and also the department of Mass Communications, I present you this Award”, the Rector said.
In his acceptance speech, Tiamiyu, who was one of the judges at the debate, appreciated the institution for the recognition. He said the award will spur him to do more for the betterment of the community and development of individuals.
“I was taken aback when my name was mentioned for the award because I didn’t have prior information about it before. I really appreciate the recognition and it’ll surely make me do more. I want to say that students of this institution are at all times welcome in Insight Media. Also, we’re opened to more areas of partnership with the school authority.”

An award of excellence, presentation and special recognition was given to the judge of the day,Mr Jare Tiamiyu, for his contribution towards New Age journalism, investigative reportage and Developmental Journalism. He was obviously awe by the recognition and award.
Present at the programme includes members of St Charles Old Students Association, Top management staff of the institution, Dean, students affairs – Mrs Ojejide, Dean of management faculty – Mr Olusola Ojejide, Mr Fagboungbe Oluwaseun, lecturers, among others.
