The Osun State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has arrested three suspects shop burglars in Osogbo, the State capital.
The arrests were made after a report from one Hamzat Tajudeen on the 22nd November that his shop was burgled and materials carted away on Sunday 14th November,2021, a statement by Daniel Adigun, the command’s spokesperson has confirmed.
The suspects, identified as Oyejola Ismail, 20, Awoyinka Ridwan, 15 and Aderemi Jelili, 44; have given confessional statements of their involvement, after they were arrested.
Oyejola and Awoyinka confessed to have burgled into the shop around 6:00am and made away with three electric motors, three generator parts, four welding machine and a drilling machine. They said they sold the items to Aderemi Jelili who is into purchase of scrap metals though he denied but admitted to have bought condemned socket and chain from the duo.
While investigation is on to ascertain the extent of involvement of each of them so they could be charged for conspiracy, stealing and trespass.
Meanwhile, the complainant has asked for the return of his stolen items or the payment of nine hundred and ninety thousand naira (#990,000) missing in his shop.
