Arrangements have been concluded towards the OSBC/Macjey 10km Road Race, organised to mark the 3rd Anniversary of governor Adegboyega Oyetola in the saddle in the State of Osun, to hold on Saturday November 27, 2021.
A statement by the Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the event, obtained by InsightMedia media in Osogbo disclosed this.
According the statement signed by Muideen Adeleke and Wale Alao, deadline for obtaining of participation form is Monday November 22, 2021 while Wednesday November 24, 2021 is the deadline for submission of form.
“The marathon is among others, aimed at showcasing the tourism potential in the state;fish out sports talents;create job opportunities for the teeming youth and keep crimes at bay.
“The governor Mr. Oyetola is the official starter in the early hours of the day of the event, taking off under the ‘November 27 Bridge’, along Gbongan/Ibadan road Osogbo.
“The 10km Road Race, will also feature a one-kilometre trek by members of the State Executive Council, Party chieftains and Local Government Chairmen from the roundabout, linking the ring road to OSBC complex, Km 4, Ile-Awiye Oke-Baale, Osogbo.
“A number of personalities including the speaker, Osun State House of Assembly Rt. Hon.Timothy Owoeye, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Hon. Adebayo Adeleke (Banik), Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engr. Remi Omowaiye, an Industrialist and foremost sports promoter, Mr. Usman Remilekun Tijani as well as the South West zonal Chairman of National Union of Road Transport Workers Union, NURTW, Chief Folorunso Olalekan Salami will bag Awards of Excellence on Sports Promotion.
