The management of Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife has denied the report that the remains of the deceased Master’s degree student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Timothy Adegoke was brought to its facilities.
The management made this claim in a statement obtained by InsightMedia on Saturday in Osogbo.
Police Public Relations Officer of Osun State Command, SP Yemisi Opalola has at various times during the week that body was taken to OAUTH for autopsy after it was exhumed by the police.
The statement reads, “The attention of the Management of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Ile-Ife, has been drawn to some publications on several social media platforms, claiming that the body of Timothy Adegoke was brought to the morgue of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex for autopsy.
“Please we want to state, as a matter of fact that, the body of the deceased was never deposited in our hospital for any coroner case.
“Our hearts and prayers go to the Adegoke family. May God give them the fortitude to bear the weight of this difficult time.”
Adegoke reportedly lodged at Hilton Hotel, Ile-Ife last Friday but was killed by yet to be identified individuals with body buried.
Founder of the hotel, Dr Ramon Adedoyin and six others including his staff are currently in detention over the matter.
