The Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing has approved the rehabilitation of old Moro Bridge in Kwara State.
The was made known as the Governor of the State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq visited the Ministry on Wednesday to push for the project to be done.
At a meeting with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Works and Housing in Abuja, Alhaji Babangida Hussaini, the Governor got assurances that the Federal Government has now approved the repair of the old bridge while approvals are awaited for contract variations on the ongoing construction of the new Moro Bridge.
The worn-out old Moro bridge was recently shut down for safety reasons, while the state government appealed to the Federal Government to fix it urgently to ease human and vehicular traffic in that corridor.
