2018 Governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Senator Ademola Adeleke, his nephew and 2018 party agent of the PDP, Mr Bamidele Adeleke are set to battle five other persons for the ticket of the party in the 2022 gubernatorial primaries.
Both Ademola and Bamidele have obtained their nomination and expression of interest forms at the national headquarters of the party in Abuja, InsightMedia confirms.
Others who have also purchased the N21m forms are Insurance guru, Dr Akin Ogunbiyi; Former Secretary to the State Government, Alh Fatai Akinbade; Oil magnate, Prince Dotun Babayemi; party chieftain from Ilesha, Mr Sanya Omirin and businessman, Mr Tosin Olatunji Abiola.
Analysts observed that the purchase of forms by Adeleke brothers may be signal to cracks in the Adeleke dynasty.
It was also gathered that the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, is very much interested in who picks the ticket of the PDP in the neighbouring Osun.
He was said to have shown interest in Dele Adeleke, who he argued had demonstrated much intellect and capacity than the younger brother of the late Isiaka Adeleke, Ademola.
The late Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke was the first major political figure in the family after their father who served as a Senator in the Second Republic.
