A governorship aspirant under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, Pastor Phillip Oladapo Omodeni has announced his withdrawal from the race.
Omodeni in a statement obtained by InsightMedia in Osogbo on Saturday, December 11, said the decision to step down was made to allow him get in touch with people at the grassroots and to give way for his contribution towards the rebuilding of the PDP.
While pledging his support any candidate of that party that emerge from the primaries, the Osogbo-born politician thanked all his supporters home and abroad for the belief they have in him.
The statement partly read, “After due consultation with all our Elders in Osogbo, our Leaders in PDP, and all Stakeholders including our teeming followers in Osogbo where I hail from in Osun State, it is with free will that I announce my withdrawal from the gubernatorial race of Osun state 2022.
“This is to allow me and my team to study and get in touch more with my new party at the grassroots and to put my efforts in contributing to the needed rebuilding process of our great party, The PDP.
“I therefore pledge my total and unflinching support to whoever becomes our party candidate for the gubernatorial election.
“As a diasporan, let me use this medium to thank everyone in PWB (Politics Without Bitterness) all our supporters abroad and at home, who believe in me and what I stand for, together in our life time we shall see the Nigeria of our dream.”
