A newly Inaugurated Representative of Osun Central Senatorial District at the Nigerian Youth Parliament, National Assembly, Babawale Popoola has concluded arrangements to hold a town hall meeting in Osogbo, the State capital.

The meeting, scheduled to hold on Saturday, December 18, will have critical stakeholders present, while matter affecting the development of young persons will take center stage.

Popoola in a statement obtained by InsightMedia on Tuesday, said, “I’m hosting the Youth Townhall Meeting as a platform for young people in Osun State to use their voice to make contributions to the present and future of their generation in the state and Nigeria as a nation.

“Because I cannot just be useless to my generation who I claim to be representing, I have decided to host the Youth Townhall Meeting to make an open call for opinions, expectations, recommendations and most importantly conduct a need assessment of what the priorities of Youths are.

“This is also an avenue to make my constituents understand the core mandate of my office, which will help them make contributions from an informed perspective and demand for open governance and accountability.

“As the representative of Osun Central Senatorial District, I so much understand the importance of open governance, quality representation and citizens driven agenda and that’s why I’m inviting you to this townhall meeting scheduled for Saturday, 18th of December 2021 at Benber Hall, Ring Road, Osogbo.”

The Nigerian Youth Parliament (NYP) is a Legislative and Developmental Institution, created to strengthen, reinforce and consolidate efforts in empowering Young People through meaningful Youth representation in driving Nigeria’s developmental agenda.
