The Main Hall of the ancient town of Ilase- Ijesha in Obokun Local Government Area of Osun State was, today, Saturday, 15th January, 2022, filled to its fullest capacity as Godwin Adedayo Support Foundation distributed packs of food items to over five hundred people in the Council Area.
The Non-governmental Organisation founded by Prince Hon. Adedayo Godwin Owoyinka deemed it necessary to touch the lives of people in each of the ten Wards in the Local Government Area by giving them edible packages containing rice, noodles and groundnut oil.
While declaring the programme open, the Royal Father of the town, the Alase of Ilase- Ijesha, Oba Isiaka Adesina, who could not hide his joy, appreciated the humanitarian gestures of the benefactor, Hon. Godwin Adedayo Owoyinka.
The monarch raised royal blessings on the Organiser of the Empowerment Programme, the leaders and members of the community together with the fairly selected beneficiaries in the area comprising the widows, children, aged, disabled who are less privileged.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of Obokun Local Government, Prince Adelani Owoeye, noted, with enthusiasm, the overwhelming participation of all and sundry in the historic food distribution programme.
Hon. Owoeye expressed gratitude to the philanthropist for putting smiles on the face of the people at this crucial time of need.
He, however, introduced Hon. Godwin Adedayo, to the party Chieftains and members in the area for official recognition and future political support.
In his message, the grassroot mobiliser and donor, Prince Hon. Godwin Adedayo, expressed pleasure and fulfilment over the impacts his Foundation has been making especially on the residents of Obokun area.
Prince Adedayo stated further that he launched this Foundation last year with a view to contributing his empowerment-quota to the society.
The philanthropist emphatically and categorically stressed his readiness to continue pursuing the welfare and progress of the people. He advised the people to embrace honesty, diligence and discipline in all their endeavours.
The Five hundred beneficiaries across the Local Government, who were filled with happiness, excitement and gratitude, prayed for the Godwin Adedayo Support Foundation to continue recording success and development in all its activities.
Also in attendance in this record- breaking event were His Royal Highness, the Alamo of Ayegbaju Ijesha, the donor’s father, Mr Awoyinka popularly known as “Mentor”, the Party Vice Chairman, Women and Youth Leaders, Ward Chairmen, Party EXCOS and members in the Council Area.
